About Sarah

After over twenty years of study and personal practice, my call to teach came from a place of deep gratitude and love for humanity.

It was 2001, and Austin, TX was still weird. I was a petroleum engineering student at The University of Texas and a free-spirited seeker of truth when I walked into my first yoga āsana class. My studies in āsana intensified in 2013, practicing primarily with Sarah Montross, whose influence led me to study with Christina Sell, Gioconda Parker, and my primary teacher, Manorama, founder of Sanskrit Studies and the Luminous Soul Method. .

I traveled to India just before the start of the pandemic, and, as she often does, India woke me up. I strengthened my relationship with the divine and subtle energy and began studying more consistently with Manorama. I spent many nights under the light of the moon and many days under the arms of the trees. Over the next few years, I immersed in practice with Debbie Mills, whose psychosomatic and energetic teachings helped me to learn to see my blind spots and work through mental, emotional, and physical holding patterns.

In 2020, I completed a private 200-hr teacher training and began teaching in-person and online. In 2022, I completed the BIG Upgrade (advanced 300-hour teacher training) and Level One (first year) of Sanskrit study.

I began studying Sanskrit, meditation, and yoga philosophy privately with Manorama in 2022. Through her teachings, my commitment to Tradition emerged, and I am now primarily focused on study and practice under her guidance.
